Andrew Csafordi: Encaustic Artist, Sculptor, Designer

Through each encaustic painting, Andrew Csafordi brings the viewer into an organic land or skyscape unlike any other.
Rich layered textures of imagination, bees wax, fibers, wood, metal and other materials are used in combination to tell a story about “life below the surface” and “the roots that ground the world above”.
Sometimes whimsical, sometimes moody, always thought provoking, Csafordi paintings seems as if he has reached down with both hands and ripped up the earth to show his viewers what could lie beneath the surface... literally and metaphorically.
The maple wood art board surface is only the beginning of a Csafordi painting. He then continues to compose beyond the board, with additional materials carefully placed to reach out and add dimension to the piece, taking the eye on a detailed visual journey. Along the way, the work progresses from a painting to a sculptural piece.
A graduate of the Ontario College of Art & Design (OCAD, 1979), Andrew is also an accomplished sculptor, illustrator and designer.
Creating paintings and sculptural art for his corporate clients is all part of Andrew’s success as an encaustic artist.
Andrew creates from his studio gallery farm in Bloomfield, Ontario in gorgeous Prince Edward County.
